Frequently Asked Questions

We are always happy to help answer any question you might have, so if you don't see something covered here or would like additional information, please email us.

Do you make custom stamps?

No, unfortunately we do not. There are many companies out there who would be happy to help you, so just try a Google search or a local office supply store for simple orders.

Do you have a catalog?

For now, we only have our online catalog, which stays up-to-the minute with new designs and information. We haven't ruled out a paper catalog for the future; however, because we add new designs randomly throughout the year, we're trying to find a way to have a paper catalog and keep it current.

Do you sell wholesale?

Yes we do! For our wholesale terms, please email us, and include your resale number, along with your name, your store's name, and your contact information.

Can your UM stamps be used with acrylic blocks?

Yes! Our unmounted stamps are sold as trimmed rubber with permanent-type cushion attached. This is the very sticky cushion normally used with wood mounts; you do NOT want to stick them straight to an acrylic block or they won't come off! However, there are several ways to make them work with acrylic: 1) you can apply a temporary-stick product, such as "Alene's Tack It Over and Over" (found at most craft stores) or double-stick tape directly to the protective wax sheet on the sticky cushion, which will allow the stamp to be removed from the acrylic block, 2) you can peel the sticky cushion off, and then remount the rubber die onto cling cushion, such as EZ Mount, or 3) you can peel the sticky cushion off, then apply a temporary-stick product directly to the back of the rubber die, skipping the cushion altogether. I'm sure there are other methods as well, but these are a couple of quick 'n easy ones.

Can I get a discount if I order just the rubber without the cushion?

Sorry, but no. We receive our stamps with the cushion already attached to the rubber, which we've paid extra for, so we would lose both time (to peel off cushion) and money if we sold only rubber. Which leads to the question: Why do you buy the stamps with the cushion already attached? Our newer stamps are coming pre-cut, so it would be hard to match the cut of the cushion to the cut of the rubber if we applied the cushion later, and we don't want to sell sloppy looking stamps. On our older stamps which were cut by hand, it was easier and more efficient to cut out each design only one time.

Why don't you sell your UM stamps with cling cushion?

It's a matter of inventory. Because we sell both mounted and unmounted stamps, it's easier to order the stamps with just one kind of cushion. Cling cushion will not work with wood mounts, so we'd have to keep one supply of stamps with sticky cushion, and one supply with cling cushion. And then we might end up with a surplus of one type and a deficit of the other, which would leave us in a bind. Because there are methods to use the sticky cushion with acrylic (see above) but cling doesn't work with wood, we made the decision to "stick with" permanent cushion. (Pun intentional!)

There are lots of stamp companies out there who DO sell their UM stamps on cling (most do not sell wood- mounted stamps, so it's not an issue for them), so it's worth your time to always be sure what a company means by "unmounted" - so you aren't surprised by what you receive.

Do you take suggestions for stamps?

We will happily accept suggestions for sentiment themes (i.e. "bird sentiments") or designs (i.e. "I'd love to see an anteater stamp"), but will not accept any specific sentiment or design suggestions. We retain complete rights to any stamps that we produce, so if you have a great idea, but are looking to sell it or claim royalties, it's best you produce the stamp yourself. If you see a hilarious saying on a bumper sticker or in a Hallmark card, we will not be interested in making a stamp of the saying, because it's been done, and we won't steal someone else's ideas.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes we do! We will ship anywhere in the world that the U.S. postal service reaches, charging only actual shipping. We will be happy to provide a shipping quote before processing your order. Please note that we are required to attach customs forms with our packages, and cannot misrepresent the value of the order to help avoid taxes or charges on your end.

Do you buy artwork from other artists?

No, we do not. We like our designs to have a distinct style, and that's best accomplished if we do all the artwork ourselves. There are other companies who buy artwork, however, so just ask around!

Where are you shipping from?

Richmond, Virginia

When can I expect my order to ship?

We ship all orders within 24 hrs. of payment (or upon clearance of an eCheck), except on weekends and holidays, or as otherwise noted.

When will your next Design Team tryout be?

We don't do "Open Calls" for our Design Team - mostly because it would break our hearts to have to tell people "no" if they aren't chosen. We prefer to directly contact anyone whose work interests us and who we think would be a good fit for the team. If you want to be noticed, it's good to have a blog or a public gallery where it's easy to see your work and get a feel for your style, and it's always a plus to have some projects made using our stamps; after all, if you're chosen for the team, that's what you'll be working with, and it says a lot to know you liked our stamps well enough to purchase them. It's not required, of course, but trust us, it gives you a BIG advantage!
